About Wanna B Green
GATEWAYS and the Foundation jointly operate a 31 acre property better known as the Jessie Dyslin Ranch and dedicated to serve as a community resource and educational center for young people. The Ranch was first established to teach farming to the young men too old to live in the orphanage we operated in those days (the Children's Industrial Home). Now referred to as just the Jessie Dyslin Ranch, the property is home to the social service programs run by GATEWAYS, including foster care placement and support services, an early learning center and a co-parenting education center. The Ranch is located between 2 growing urban centers, in a fertile suburban greenbelt that is reserved as a rural separator in an area increasingly overcome by development. It is also located at the nexus point of 7 public and private school districts.
The organizational mission of GATEWAYS is shaping young lives and transforming families so they can thrive. Other programs run by GATEWAYS at the Jesse Dyslin Ranch will benefit from the transformation of the property. Agriculture has historically been integrated into the youth development program and the 90 year old Jessie Dyslin Ranch has always been an agricultural education center. The Ranch Expansion Project is a long term plan to renovate the Jessie Dyslin Ranch in a way that will leverage the agricultural nature of the property to meet programmatic and financial sustainability goals.
